Who said conferences can’t be fun, inspirational, and practical? In this article, we explore 4 ways Measurable Impact stands out from the crowd of traditional educational experiences.

International Results-Based Accountability summits have become a yearly tradition to bring together social sector and public sector leaders in the common pursuit of measurable community impact. Hundreds of elected officials, nonprofit executives, social service managers and community members have gathered in places like Johannesburg, South Africa; Sydney, Australia; Belfast, Northern Ireland; and Baltimore, Maryland to learn from one another in an interactive, inspiring, and fun atmosphere. At these events, success stories are shared, tools and technologies are explored, and meaningful dialogues are opened.

Why do our Results-Based Accountability summits continue to draw crowds year after year? Because they are different from your average, run-of-the-mill conference experiences. At Measurable Impact 2017, you will have the chance to create a truly customized experience based on your interests and needs. You will leave the conference having gained practical skills to actually help you in your day-to-day work. You will have fun and make lasting connections!

Without further ado, here are 4 ways Measurable Impact Isn’t Your Ordinary Conference:

1. You will gain practical skills

Have you ever left a conference, presentation, or classroom wondering, “That was great…but I don’t feel like I gained any actual skills…” Well, you’re not alone. Many conferences are heavy on theoretical explanations and success stories. Few engage participants in an actual skill-building experience to help them apply that knowledge to real-life situations.

At Measurable Impact 2017, each session will have a facilitator to engage participants in a productive dialogue about how to implement the concepts discussed. You will learn how to create useful performance measures to measure the performance of your programs and services, how to integrate an equity lens into your work, and how to be an effective results-based leader, among other skills.

No matter which sessions you choose, you will walk away from the conference with an enhanced, practical skillet.

2. You will learn proven methods

What’s the use in learning a theoretical framework if there’s no proof that it actually gets results? None. That’s why we are all about evidence-based methodology at Measurable Impact 2017.

Results-Based Accountability (RBA) is a rigorous, yet simple approach to achieving sustainable community change. It is currently being used in more than 40 US states and at least 20 countries around the world. But you may be wondering, “Why does the conference focus on Results-Based Accountability? Aren’t there other methods out there?” Well, I’ll tell you why:

Because it works.

Want to learn how Maryland increased its children entering kindergarten ready to learn from 50% to 81%? Or how the Connecticut Department of Children and Families helped increase the number of children in kinship care by 57%?  If you want to learn how these drastic improvements and others were made using Results-Based Accountability, then you know where you’ll be November 8th to 10th.

3. There’s a session for everyone

Yes, the focus is going to be on Results-Based Accountability. But that’s not all Measurable Impact 2017 is about. We understand that our guests have varied backgrounds, professions, challenges, and needs.

That’s why we have made it a priority to make the conference customizable to fit your needs. At Measurable Impact 2017, you will have the chance to design your own experience. All guests will get to hear keynote speeches, but there will also be five unique “tracks” to choose from. Topics apply Results-Based Accountability to:

  • Early education
  • Children and families
  • Health
  • Economic success

Work for a local United Way? There will also be a special track devoted to using Results-Based Accountability in United Ways to help improve their performance and impact on the community.

4. You will have fun

Conferences shouldn’t be boring. Conferences are about bringing people together with similar interests to engage in a valuable and an inspiring experience. If you have a positive experience, you’re more likely to remember and implement the knowledge presented to you.

Measurable Impact 2017 is going to integrate elements of fun to help you connect with fellow guests and speakers. If past conferences are any indication, our speakers will get you up out of your seats, interacting with one another, and smiling. At the RBA Australia Summit in 2015, there was even some singing and dancing involved!

All guests will be invited to join us for a cocktail reception and Mariachi Band performance after the day’s sessions are complete on November 9th.

Whatever your reasons for joining us, I hope I’ve helped you understand exactly what kind of experience awaits you at Measurable Impact 2017. All of us at Clear Impact hope to see you there!
