Steven E. Smith, MPA

Steven Smith is a longtime advocate for community engagement, collective impact models and improved accountability for health outcomes. He has 25 years of public health experience, 16 as a health director, and currently serves as the Health Director of Henderson County, NC. Some of his roles include President Elect for NC Association of Local Health Directors, Board of Directors for WNC Health Network and Vaya Health. Steven is currently serving on the NC Institute of Medicine Task Force for Accountable Care Communities. He has a B.A. in Geology from UNC Wilmington, and a MPA Public Administration from NC State University.
