Welcome to “Conversations with Clear Impact” – a new video series offering a platform to organizations and individuals making a difference in the communities they serve. In our first installment, Clear Impact Global Partnerships Manager Carlos Delgado sits down with Amber Wertman, CEO, and Erica Hart, Community Impact Director, at United Way of North Central Ohio (UWNCO). Learn more about UWNCO’s 2024 campaign, their preferred frameworks and tools, how Clear Impact supports transparency and impact reporting, and tips for funders doing similar work.

Amber Wertman is CEO of United Way of North Central Ohio, serving Crawford, Marion, Morrow & Wyandot Counties and Tiffin-Seneca United Way. Working for United Way allows Amber to do what she loves, helping the community. Amber received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and her master’s degree in strategic communications from Ashland University. Amber has over twenty years of history working in the non-profit organization management industry. Amber is a business professional with a Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting and Facilitation from Board Source, as well as a Certification in Results-Based Accountability from Clear Impact.
Amber is married to Tim and is mother to Logan, who is in 7th grade.
When she is not at United Way or one of Logan’s activities, Amber is a board member and volunteer for many different organizations. Currently, Amber is Board Treasurer of the Galion History Center and Board President of Third Street Family Health Services (FQHC).
Erica Hart is the Community Impact Director at United Way of North Central Ohio. Erica has worked for United Way for the past 5 years, fostering relationships with local partner organizations and working to impact change in the community. She received a bachelor’s degree from Kenyon College and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development from SIT Graduate Institute. Erica’s professional background includes developing and managing non-profit programs, both in the United States as well as in Russia. She is also certified in Results-Based Accountability from Clear Impact.
Erica has two teenage children and enjoys staying involved in their various school activities. Hiking and gardening keep her busy in her free time and she often volunteers her gardening skills at her neighborhood school.
