All of our training programs require participants to commit to at least one year of Clear Impact Scorecard Premium. Our experience is that customers who do not buy software with the training end up wasting their time and money because there is no way to sustain the ideas taught in the training without the proper tools.

Results-Based Accountability Training:

Results-Based Accountability Overview (5 consulting hours)

This three-hour virtual session provides a basic overview of Results-Based Accountability™ (RBA) concepts including RBA definition, key principles, two levels of accountability: population and performance, and the Turn the Curve Process grounded in equity.  The webinar will include an overview of Scorecard and an interactive Turn the Curve exercise utilizing Scorecard to experience the power of RBA.  The session serves as a refresh for those who have previously received RBA 101 training, a primer for those who are interested in learning the basics of the framework or an overview for leadership.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a general understanding of the Results-Based Accountability™ model and how it can relate to your work
  • Identify the key principles of RBA
  • Distinguish between the two levels of accountability
  • Identify steps in the Turn the Curve process
  • Gain insight into how Clear Impact web-based platforms support and advance the application of RBA principles

Results-Based Accountability 101 (10 consulting hours)

This interactive virtual training consists of two three-hour sessions (6 hours total) and introduces participants to the Results-Based Accountability™ framework including the definition of RBA, key principles, two levels of accountability: population and performance, and the Turn the Curve Process grounded in equity.  In this virtual training, Results-Based Accountability™ is applied to both 1) cross-community quality of life improvements and 2) the management of programs, agencies, or service systems. Specific examples are used from local communities and agencies to create insight into how RBA is applied in a real-world context.   The sessions provide opportunities for participants to practice implementation of the concepts and how they apply to their respective communities.

Results-Based Accountability 101 Deeper Dive (20 consulting hours)

This virtual training series is covered over four three-hour sessions (12 hours total) as outlined below. This series is set apart from the three-hour and six-hour RBA training options offered by Clear Impact because it provides an in-depth opportunity to not only learn the concepts but practice them with a cohort of learners. Each session includes training of key concepts, opportunities to build capacity through exercises that reinforce developing knowledge and skills, and time for participants to engage in individual and group reflection activities to surface insights and strengthen cohesion as a cohort.

RBA Basics: This virtual session provides an overview of the key RBA concepts including what RBA is, principles of the framework, shared terms and definitions, levels of accountability, and Turn the Curve thinking grounded in equity.  The session includes interactive quizzes and exercises to help reinforce concepts. The webinar will end with an overview of Scorecard and an interactive Turn the Curve exercise utilizing Scorecard to experience the power of RBA.

Population Accountability: This virtual session provides a deep dive on population accountability to help participants dig into community-level results and indicators.  Participants will work in small groups to practice creating results statements, developing indicators, identifying priority indicators for results, and conducting a Turn the Curve exercise with indicator(s) to identify new strategies

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how to develop results statements
  • Select indicators and prioritize those that best represent achievement of the result
  • Understand how to facilitate Turn the Curve for community indicators including the development of strategies
  • Gain insight into how the Scorecard supports and advances the application of Population Accountability

Performance Accountability: This virtual session focuses on performance accountability to help participants draw connections between programs and community-level results and indicators in addition to developing powerful measures that tell the story of their work and its impact.  Participants will work in small groups to practice developing performance measures and identifying the most powerful headline measures, and conducting a Turn the Curve exercise to identify action steps for continuous improvement

Learning Objectives:

  • Align programs to community-level results and indicators
  • Develop performance measures for programs
  • Select the most powerful measures that tell the story of each program and its impact
  • Understand how to facilitate Turn the Curve for performance including the development of action steps for continuous improvement
  • Gain insight into how the Scorecard supports and advances the application of Performance Accountability

RBA Implementation: In this virtual session, the focus shifts to putting the framework into practice.  Participants will learn the three levels of RBA in action and how the components of the framework are implemented within each action level.  Other topics include the accountability schedule, using RBA for meetings, lessons learned, and keys for successful implementation.  Small groups will practice teaching the framework.

Results-Based Accountability Training of Trainers (20 consulting hours)

This intensive, virtual workshop series, consisting of four three-hour sessions (12 hours total), prepares participants to teach the concepts of Results-Based Accountability™ and to coach others in its implementation.  This session is intended for those who have already taken at least the six-hour RBA 101 course.  Participants experience a shared learning opportunity that strengthens their RBA implementation skills, provides opportunities to practice teaching RBA to others, and provides tools and resources to use and share in their communities.  These sessions cover all the components in the twelve-hour RBA 101 deeper dive, but through the lens of teaching and coaching other individuals, teams, and organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Strengthen ability to conduct Results-Based Accountability™ workshops
  • Lead training and coaching exercises related to identifying and prioritizing performance measures, making data-driven decisions, using the Turn the Curve process and working collaboratively
  • Help organizations and their leaders put RBA practices into operation
  • Gain insight into how Clear Impact web-based platforms support and advance the application of RBA principles

The term Collective Impact is now receiving a lot of attention in the nonprofit world. During this interactive virtual workshop, participants will hear stories of effective Collective Impact through the power of Asset-Based Community Development and Results-Based Accountability™.

Clear Impact Suite Training:

Scorecard Orientation (4 consulting hours)

This virtual two-hour session provides an overview of Scorecard, its functions, and how to complete tasks within the platform.  This session is appropriate for first-time Scorecard users or existing users who could use a refresher.  Topics include creating and editing Scorecards and containers, adding measures and data, creating disaggregated measures, developing calculations, visualizing data, embedding and sharing Scorecards, and entering narrative fields.

This training requires participants to commit to at least one year of Clear Impact Scorecard Premium.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how Scorecard can support with the implementation of the RBA framework
  • Practice adding Scorecards and Containers, creating measures including disaggregated and calculated measures, embedding Scorecards, and completing other key tasks in the platform
  • Identify the ways in which Scorecard can support data-driven decision-making

Compyle Orientation (4 consulting hours)

This virtual two-hour session provides an overview of Compyle, its functions, and how to utilize it in combination with Scorecard to strengthen performance management for programs, agencies, or service systems.   The session focuses on the specific data collection needs of the client to support their ability to use Compyle to align data collection to their how much, how well, and better off performance measures.  These performance measures are taken into consideration as the Compyle orientation is delivered: the client learns how to use tools within Compyle to inform the program performance measures and also develop an understanding of how data is transmitted to Scorecard.

This training requires participants to commit to at least one year of Clear Impact Scorecard Premium.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand how Compyle can support performance measurement and management
  • Practice creating participants, organizations, groups, notes, and surveys in Compyle
  • Create Compylations (data analytics) and export data from Compyle
  • Understand the processes needed to feed performance measure data to Scorecard via participant-level data collection in Compyle

Technical Assistance Offerings:

RBA Community of Practice (1.5 consulting hours per session)

This is a guided, virtual opportunity for RBA practitioners (typically those who are certified or have completed the Training of Trainers but can also work for those in varying stages of RBA practice) to share challenges, successes, and other ideas related to the implementation of the RBA model.

Office Hours (consulting hours vary)

The general technical assistance sessions are open-ended, virtual opportunities for individuals to meet directly with the Clear Impact consultant and discuss any topics related to Results-Based Accountability™ Scorecard, or Compyle.  Example topics include refining performance measures, clarifying numerators and denominators, feedback on data collection methods, tips on facilitating Turn the Curve, model alignment guidance, strategies to better utilize Scorecard, etc.

Thought Partner Sessions (consulting hours vary)

Thought partner sessions provide an opportunity for leadership to virtually connect with the Clear Impact consultant to idea share around RBA implementation, best use of Scorecard and Compyle, Scorecard and RBA mapping, and other needs.  The content of these sessions is driven by specific needs/requests.

Tuesdays: Intro to Scorecard. Learn the basic tools and resources available to get you started on the right foot with your Scorecard journey. Each Tuesday session follows the same format and will give a birds-eye view of the software.

Thursdays: “Learn With Us.” On Thursdays, join our webinar for a more in-depth discussion of a specific topic within Clear Impact Suite.
