We are pleased to announce that Clear Impact was awarded an AFWERX Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I contract on November 5th, 2021. To win, Clear Impact leadership successfully established the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of our proposed Research/ Research & Development efforts and met AFWERX SBIR performance quality standards. According to AFWERX (a technology acceleration project coordinated by the U.S. Air Force), the SBIR program enables small businesses to explore their technological potential. It also provides profit incentives for the commercialization of technological developments.
This award is Clear Impact’s first-ever contract win with the U.S. Department of Defense, and we hope it will lead to further partnerships to serve the U.S. Armed Forces. Winning a Phase I contract opens new doors for Clear Impact to partner with the entire Federal Government in the future with the Sole Source capabilities included with the award. By increasing access to federal agencies, ultimately, this opportunity will help us accelerate our mission to improve the lives of adults, children, and families across the United States and around the world.
So, what comes next? To apply for a Medium Bet (SBIR Phase II), Clear Impact must locate an Air Force customer and have them sign a customer memorandum signifying their intention to work with our company. As such, Clear Impact will start a new project conducting customer discovery within the U.S. Air Force to find customers ready to help the United States Air Force achieve measurable success utilizing Clear Impact software solutions.
If Clear Impact finds a match between our product and an Air Force end-user, we will be able to apply to receive up to $3 million for a trial period of our software solutions with the potential Air Force user. After the trial, we will be eligible for a contract that doesn’t require additional competition with any agency in the U.S. Federal Government.
We want to thank the entire Clear Impact team for their dedication and our partnership with SBIR Advisors in guiding us on this journey to our first DoD contract.

About the SBIR and STTR Programs
“The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are highly competitive programs that encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Federal Research/Research and Development (R/R&D) with the potential for commercialization. Through a competitive awards-based program, SBIR and STTR enable small businesses to explore their technological potential and provide the incentive to profit from its commercialization. By including qualified small businesses in the nation’s R&D arena, high-tech innovation is stimulated, and the United States gains entrepreneurial spirit as it meets its specific research and development needs.”
