Story Behind the Curve:
Many people who reside in the communities where we operate have limited mobility options and have a difficult time reaching our offices.
Partners:
We have partnerships with many other community organizations including:
– Mother for a Better Future
– City Public Health Department
– Health People’s Initiative
What Works:
Thanks to the grant we received last year we have significantly been able to increase our community outreach and grown the number of women who engage with our services.
Action Plan:
We are currently researching other organizations like ours in nearby cities to see what they are doing. We also have several individuals who will be attending a conference later this year to learn more about what works for other organizations like ours.
Data Discussion:
The % of low birth weight children born to women receiving services has increased in the past 4 years. We would like this number to go down. We need to consider adjusting the curriculum or adding an educational piece to help impact these numbers.
