What is Compyle?

Compyle is a powerful, cloud-based case management and direct services software system that allows your organization to:

  1. Track service recipients, partner organizations, and other key constituents
  2. Create custom data collection tools (forms, surveys, tests, assessments, applications, etc.) to support your organization’s programs and services
  3. Engage participants with online assessments, surveys, and notes that they may complete for themselves
  4. Organize, collect, and analyze your program delivery, performance measurement, and outcome data
  5. Improve your performance measurement and intensify your impact via Clear Impact Scorecard integration.

As a web-based companion product for Clear Impact Scorecard, Compyle allows organizations to track the people and partners they serve, removing the need for third-party applications. Compyle can transmit aggregate and disaggregated data directly into Scorecard, saving you time and reducing the possibility of transcription errors.

As a human services software, Compyle can be used alone without a Clear Impact Scorecard subscription by organizations that are just beginning to adopt a performance measurement framework. However, suppose your organization has the means and is ready to measure your impact. In that case, we recommend utilizing the full suite (Compyle + Scorecard) to optimize your data analysis and gain access to advanced performance improvement features. In other words, with Clear Impact Suite, you won’t just be able to find your data – you’ll also turn it into more powerful action and impact.

Why Should I Use Compyle for My Organization?

Compyle is a simple, flexible, and affordable way to gather information about the individuals your organization supports, the services they receive, and how those services are impacting their lives. You can also use Compyle to evaluate employee well-being, track donor information, gauge program efficiency and quality, document outcomes at the client, program, and agency level. It also allows you to easily disaggregate your participant data by race, gender, geographic location, and other factors to accelerate your diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Compyle has the flexibility to collect virtually anything.

With Compyle, you’ll be able to easily find, organize, and intuitively update your mission-critical data. Compyle is customizable and flexible so that your organization can capture the information you need in the manner that best supports your organization’s goals. Compyle’s data collection tools–customized to fit your organization’s service model–will provide insights to help you optimize your decision-making for the most significant impact.

How Does Compyle Work? What Are the Main Features?

Compyle’s main functionality can be split into three categories:

  • Participant and Constituent Management
  • Data Collection Tools (surveys, notes, assessments, etc.)
  • Analytics and Scorecard feeds

Participants

Participants are the key constituents your organization needs to capture information about. They may be the individuals who benefit from your services, your staff and volunteers who provide those services, community partners, donors, board members, or any combination of these. Participants not only have their information tracked but also may provide information directly through Compyle’s survey tools. Staff and other Compyle users may also complete surveys and assessments for participants if the information was gathered offline. Participant data can be analyzed at the individual, program, and organization levels. Aggregate data can be sent to Scorecard via automated feeds.

Participants can be added in three ways:

  1. Manually created by a Compyle user
  2. Imported from a spreadsheet
  3. By the participant if a new participant accesses a survey or public registration form
  4. While Compyle comes with a set of standard participant demographic fields, you have the option to add whatever additional fields you need and turn off the fields that are not relevant to your organization

With complete customization, you can record any piece of information you’d like to track for each person.

To help you manage your participants and analyze their data, Compyle allows you to create an unlimited number of groups, each with a specific set of data points collected. These groups will enable you to manage access to your different participants and categorize them for further analysis. This feature allows you to organize your participants in virtually endless ways, allowing you to aggregate and disaggregate data for deeper analysis and program optimization.

Data Collection Tools

Compyle includes a range of customizable data collections tools for collecting information about the service and support you provide to your participants and the impact it has on their well-being. All forms, assessments, notes, and surveys you create in Compyle can be completed either by participants via website links or by users working within Compyle.

The forms, notes, assessments, and surveys can be created using any of the numerous predefined field types in Compyle, such as:

  1. Dates and Times
  2. Numbers, Ranges, and Calculations
  3. Open-ended responses
  4. Multiple Choice fields

Data collection tip: Surveys are delicate systems that should be carefully discussed and revised throughout your planning process. We have a recent blog outlining the steps in crafting an effective survey, but the general steps are as follows:

  1. Set your objectives
  2. Create performance measures first
  3. Keep your questions simple
  4. Don’t ask too many questions
  5. Include relevant demographics
  6. Understand question types
  7. Avoid bias

Form creation is one of the most critical components to collecting accurate data for your participants. Be sure to carefully choose and word each question to yield unbiased and truthful responses. Without proper planning, your survey results may be inaccurate and render your information useless.

Analytics

Compyle automatically generates reports for completed surveys and assessments. Additionally, you can create various “Compylations” or graphical reports for aggregating data from notes, assessments, and surveys. Compylations can analyze data in many different ways and over different time periods. For instance, Compylations allow you to easily disaggregate your participant data by race, gender, and other factors to accelerate your diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Moreover, if you’ve opted to integrate your Clear Impact Compyle software with Clear Impact Scorecard, Compylations can be configured to automatically feed data to performance measures into your linked Scorecard. This automation will allow you to get to work straight away on performance improvement.
