Submission Title: Brown Child Left Behind – Racial Disparities among Disconnected Youth
Contest Result: 2021 Finalist

Submission Overview: Identity, Inc. aims to help disconnected youth in Montgomery County, Maryland through partnerships with key organizations in their community. These partnerships include programs with the Montgomery Public School system, parental involvement workshops, Worksource Montgomery, local labor unions, and other school and career-related organizations. Indentity, Inc. also created Youth Opportunity Centers to give disconnected youth a safe space to visit and become reconnected through jobs or re-enrollment in school.

By tracking the data of how many youths, aged 16-24 were not working or in school, Identity, Inc. was able to identify the impact of their work. The Scorecard represents this data set in the years 2000, 2010, and 2017, disaggregated by race.
