Clear Impact is excited to welcome the addition of our new Senior Consultant, Matthew Joseph.

Matthew comes to us from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation where he served as a senior program officer for three years. While there, Matthew worked with four districts to identify more than $150 million in cost savings to close deficits while investing in instructional priorities. Matthew also oversaw the development of Smarter School Spending, a free toolkit districts are using to identify strategic priorities, determine their cost and find the money to pay for them.

Prior to joining the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Matthew served as the executive director for Advocates for Children and Youth, where he led statewide coalitions that doubled state funds for public schools, secured $10 million money for after- school programs and increased reimbursement for preventive health care. Through a series of provocative studies, Matthew also persuaded state officials to improve their interventions in persistently struggling schools and enhance services for families at risk of losing children to foster care.

When asked about his decision to join Clear Impact, Matthew responded: “Clear Impact is uniquely positioned to incorporate strategic finance into Results-Based Accountability, which is critical if organizations are to improve results in an era of scarce resources. I am thrilled by the challenge and opportunity.”

We extend a warm welcome to Matthew and look forward to supporting him as he works to infuse strategic finance into the Results Based AccountabilityTM process to help clients make more informed investment and resource allocations decisions to support priority outcomes.
