Last year, we announced the release of Scorecard 7.0, the latest version of our Clear Impact Scorecard software. We recommend that all users upgrade to 7.0 as soon as possible before we retire 6.0 in the coming months. Why make the switch? Scorecard 7.0 offers an upgraded user experience that enhances accessibility, performance, and productivity. This article will go over all of the major changes and will provide instructions on how to upgrade your Scorecard account.

Upgrade #1: Improved User Interface (UI)

With the release of 7.0, Scorecard received a full makeover to the user interface. The first change you’ll see when opening up Scorecard is that the typeface of all text has been made thicker and with greater contrast to the background. The default colors of Containers, Scorecards, and titles have all been designed with readability as the first priority. In contrast to 6.0, Scorecard 7.0 is 100% ADA compliant according to the US Access Board 508 Guidelines.

We believe that accessibility is an important part of equity, but those who are nostalgic for the old Scorecard can still customize their software color palette using a full color spectrum.

We’ve also moved a few things around to make the software easier to navigate. In previous versions, your navigation menu was fixed to the left side of the screen. While this was convenient in many cases, we thought it got in the way of the work sometimes. So we moved it to the top to allow for full-screen Scorecard viewing.

Upgrade #2: Measures Page Improvements

The measures page in Scorecard 6.0 prioritized data, showing your chart on the left and your raw numbers on the right. In Scorecard 7.0, we’ve changed this to display your notes on the right side of the chart. We did this because we believe that the Story Behind the Curve is a crucial step in data analysis. Therefore, it should be immediately visible alongside your data. To make your reports easier to share in a presentation setting, we’ve added the “sticky chart” functionality to your measures pages. With this feature turned on, you can scroll through all your notes while the chart or graph stays in place on the left side of your screen.

The overall layout of your measures page below the graph and notes has also changed. Relationships, actions, and files are now stored in a neat folder that you can access in a more intuitive way. We’ve also optimized the export process to allow for custom layouts when printing or exporting your Scorecards to PDF or other formats.

One of the biggest changes within the Measures page view is that we’ve made data input faster, more intuitive, and more in sync with other programs you might be using. In Scorecard 6.0, all data fields were enclosed in their own text box. This made copying and pasting data from programs like Excel impossible. The new data input setup is more visually appealing and works just like an Excel sheet- meaning you can transfer data in and out of your other programs seamlessly.

Other Important Changes

Small changes within Scorecard 7.0 have made a huge improvement in load speed. When we did a side-by-side comparison, we found that the same Scorecard 7.0 pages consistently loaded a full second faster or more when compared to 6.0. If you have a large number of measures, you will definitely see an improvement.

Here’s a list of smaller details that have changed:

  • We’ve added the functionality of “favoriting” Scorecards. Previously, only measures could be “favorited.”
  • You can now edit individual measures in the Scorecard view. This eliminates the need to open a new page to add data or information to a measure contained within a Scorecard.
  • Finally, we improved functionality for calculated measures. You can now quickly and easily edit data within all disaggregated measures.
