Clear Impact is excited to welcome Erika Bernabei to the team, as a new Senior Consultant!

Erika comes to us from the Promise Neighborhoods Institute at Policy Link, where she served as a Senior Program Associate for the past four years. There she developed and managed a results-driven infrastructure and Results Based Accountability training and support system for more than 50 diverse Promise Neighborhood communities to produce holistic and measurable outcomes and advance equity and opportunity.

Prior to joining PolicyLink, Erika worked on youth justice issues at the Vera Institute of Justice in New York, NY, and in the housing division at Legal Aid in Oakland, CA. She holds an MA in Education Policy from Teachers College, Columbia University, and is a PhD candidate in Education Leadership at New York University.

Recently, Erika presented her work at the first Results-Based Accountability international summit in Johannesburg South  Africa, with Dr. JaNay Queen, our Senior Director of Strategic Implementation. The presentation, entitled ‘Turning Curves in Education: Using Data to Advance Equity in Place-Based Initiatives’, discussed three major challenges that leaders face (disciplined required to use data to drive decisions, working with partners in new ways, and connecting their work to movement building) and how Results-Based Accountability can be used to maximize leadership, management and program performance when improving education systems. The full presentation can be viewed here.

When asked about her decision to join Clear Impact, Erika shared the following: “I believe that using a disciplined approach and data to inform practice can help produce more equitable outcomes for low-income communities and children and families of color. While there are a number of frameworks that describe components of comprehensive, impactful work, Results Based Accountability helps organizations move from theory to action. Clear Impact is the foremost expert in this work and I am thrilled to join the Group and to contribute to the impact that RBA is having in systems across the country.”

We extend a heartfelt welcome to Erika and look forward to working with and supporting her commitment to building the ability of leaders and neighborhoods to achieve equity for people of color and low-income children and families
