Recently, some of the Results Leadership Australia team participated in the Measuring Social Outcomes conference and 2nd Annual Impact Measurement Awards in Sydney. Louisa McKay and Kate Tye of Clear Impact Australia and Adam Luecking, CEO of Clear Impact delivered an RBA workshop, focused on providing participants ‘with the tools, language and focus that is crucial to effective outcomes measurement and valuation.’ In addition, we were very excited to see one of our Clear Impact Australia clients, YWCA NSW, win an Impact Measurement award for their use of Results Based Accountability and the Clear Impact Scorecard (see photo above). YWCA NSW is a progressive organisation committed to outcomes measurement and quality improvement and we are proud to have supported their work. Hepatitis NSW was also an awards finalist and Family Services NSW (FamS) also won an achievement award both for using RBA and the Clear Impact Scorecard. RBA was represented heavily in many of the presentations at the Outcomes Measurement conference, which is testament to the simplicity of the framework and its capacity to be user friendly.

In addition, recently, Clear Impact Australia team had the opportunity to connect with Dr. Michael McAfee from the Promise Neighbourhoods Institute at PolicyLink. The team was able to participate in a reflective practice session and learn about some of the innovation happening with Promise Neighbourhoods in the US. “Inspired by the Harlem Children’s Zone, Promise Neighborhoods wrap children in high-quality, coordinated health, social, community, and educational support from the cradle to college to career.” During his visit, Dr. McAfee expressed that Results Based Accountability (RBA) has provided the Promise Neighbourhoods Collective Impact initiative with the discipline and rigour required to enable communities to get from talk to action more quickly.

Dr. McAfee’s visit to South Australia was a part of his role as a board member of Together South Australia— a collaboration of non-profits, state government departments, and a philanthropic organization that works with communities to collaborate and tackle complex social problems. Together SA is leading collective impact initiatives in South Australia. On Thursday, February 5th, Dr. McAfee presented “What Promise Does Your Neighbourhood Hold”—as a part of ‘Getting it Together 2015’, a public workshop series offered by Together SA that aims to bring the wisdom of the best local, national and international thought and practice leaders to South Australia. Upcoming trainings and events can be found at Together SA’s website here: http://togethersa.org.au/events-and-training/.

Interest and use of RBA is growing all over Australia and our team have recently provided advice, support, training and consultation to organisations in NSW, Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. If you would like to know more about how RBA can assist your Australian organisation or community please contact info@clearimpact.com.
