Welcome to Clear Impact Scorecard! We’re so glad you decided to try out our free tier. Getting started with Scorecard is easy, but we realize there’s a lot to do! Here’s some information to help you get started and get the most out of your subscription:

The Simplest Way to Use the Scorecard

We strongly recommend watching the introduction video and completing the tutorial after creating your free account. It will guide you through basic functions, like creating a scorecard, creating measures, and adding data.

If you haven’t already, here are a few steps you can take after creating your account to help get you on the path to success:

  1. Brainstorm the structure of your Scorecard.

In Scorecard’s free subscription, you’re only going to be able to create ten Performance Measures or Indicators, so it’s a good idea to select your most important measures ahead of time and figure out how you want to organize them. In Scorecard, people organize their Indicators under Results and their Performance Measures under Programs. Figure out which Result(s) and Program(s) you’d like to track data for, then create those in the Scorecard.

  2. Create your Indicators and/or Performance Measures.

After you choose your most important Performance Measures and Indicators, you need to create them. There are a couple ways you can do this. here’s  how to create a Performance Measure.

    1. The long way: Create your measure first. Click “Scorecard Objects” in the left navigation bar to expand the selection, and then click “Performance Measures.” Click “add new” in the top right corner of the screen. Enter the information for your measure. Click save and exit. Navigate back to your scorecard and click “edit” in the top right corner. Find the program you want to add your measure under and click “edit”. Add your measure by clicking “add existing performance measure.” The process for creating an Indicator is the same. Just click on “Indicators” under “Scorecard Objects” instead.
    2. The fast way: Use the Scorecard fast-builder. Navigate to your scorecard. Click “edit” in the top right corner. Scroll down to your Program and click “edit”. Click “new performance measure”, add the information, and click save. For Indicators, scroll down to your Result, click “edit,” and then click “add new indicator.”
  3. Add the data for your measures.

You can only improve what you have data for! Data helps you understand the state of wellbeing in your community and the performance of your programs so that you can improve. There are two ways to do this:

    1. The fast way: Navigate to the Scorecard. Click on the “I” icon if you want to add data for an Indicator or the “PM” icon if you want to add data for a Performance Measure. Click “add data values,” add your data, and click “save.”
    2. The long way: Click on the name of the Performance Measure or Indicator you want to add data for and navigate to that measure’s edit screen. Click the pencil icon in the top right corner of the screen. Scroll down to the data editing section and click “edit data.” Add your data and click “save.”
  4. Customize your graphs.

Customizing your graphs with forecasts, targets, color bands, and notes can help you better understand your data. Click on the title of the Performance Measure or Indicator you want to customize. Click the pencil icon in the top right corner of your screen. At the top of the page, you can edit the name of your measure, add tags to help you locate that measure, and add a description. If you scroll down, you can change the properties of your data. If you want to add color bands or targets, click the switch so that it changes to “on.” Then click “save” in the top right corner of the screen. Edit the forecast by clicking “edit forecast.” Add color bands and targets by clicking “edit data.”

  5. Complete the Turn-the-Curve questions.

Clear Impact Scorecard isn’t just built to help you track your performance. It’s also built to help you improve it. For each Performance Measure and Indicator, there are prompts that will help you analyze your data and work to improve it. The types of notes you can add to your measures are endless, but we recommend working to answer the questions you see there first. These questions were specially designed to help you get from talk-to-action quickly and focus on the most important information needed to get results.

You can find more useful information and instructions in the Scorecard help center. Simply access your account and then click on the question mark in the upper right corner of your screen. From there, you can access video tutorials and articles to help you on your journey.
