Win $25,000 for the Racial Equity Initiative of Your Choice in Clear Impact’s Racial Equity Turn the Curve Poster Contest
About the Contest
If you’re attending Measurable Equity 2021: Funding Racial Progress, you are invited to enter Clear Impact’s “Racial Equity Turn the Curve Plan Poster Contest.” The winner (an individual or group) will receive $25,000 for the racial equity initiative of their choice.
Contestants will create a Racial Equity Turn the Curve Plan that best addresses quality-of-life population indicators or internal DEI efforts.
Beyond the donation’s intended impact, this contest seeks to help agencies learn how to effectively use “Turn the Curve” thinking to address racial equity issues. Creating Turn the Curve Plans will also help Measurable Equity 2021 attendees apply learnings to their work outside the conference.
What is Turn the Curve Thinking and a Turn the Curve Plan?
Turn the Curve Thinking is the core process of Results-Based Accountability, and it provides a step-by-step process for improving complex social problems.
A Turn the Curve Plan is usually a 1-2 page document that includes:
A trendline or trendlines of disaggregated data by race (usually either an indicator or performance measure)
A story behind the curve (contributing and limiting factors that affect the state of the data)
A list of partners and their roles (answering who has a role to play in turning the data in the right direction)
The best thinking on what works (evidence-based and/or new ideas on what has worked or what might work)
An action plan for improvement (a specific plan that answers who, what, when, where, and how the work will get done).
Interested individuals can view a sample Turn the Curve Plan created in Clear Impact Scorecard.
