Clear Impact is excited to announce that Anna Bligh, CEO of YWCA New South Wales (NSW) and the former Premier of Queensland, we be delivering a keynote address at this year’s Results Based Accountability Australia Summit in September 2015.

Anna Bligh was elected to the Parliament of Queensland, Australia in 1995. She became the first female Premier of the State in September 2007 and Australia’s first popularly elected female Premier when she won the 2009 Queensland State election. Ms. Bligh served as Premier for almost 5 years, until March 2012. She came to this position after a long and distinguished political career during which she held ministerial responsibilities for a number of portfolios including, Education, Social Welfare, Arts, Economic and State Development, Infrastructure, Finance, Treasury and Deputy Premier.

Anna Bligh’s leadership came to national and international attention as she led the response and recovery effort to devastating natural disasters that crippled Queensland in January 2011.

According to an article published by YWCA NSW, Anna’s considerable experience began with her early career in a number of community welfare services; “Ms. Bligh began her working life as a child support officer in a refuge for women escaping domestic violence. She then went on to work in family support services in both New Zealand and Sydney during the 1980s. Further, Ms. Bligh’s first Ministerial portfolio was Families, Youth and Community Care and Disability Services. During this time she oversaw significant reforms to legislation and programs and funding to improve the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders.”

Anna now lives in Sydney, where she is CEO of YWCA NSW. She also sits on the Boards of the Bangarra Dance Company and Medibank Private. Recently, YWCA NSW was recognized with an Honorable Mention for Achievements in Impact Measurement by a Not-for-Profit Organization at the second annual Impact Measurement Awards. YWCA NSW is currently one of the leading users of Results Based Accountability in Australia.

We look forward to hearing Ms. Bligh speak at this year’s second international RBA Summit, which will be held September 29th to October 1st at the Doltone House in Sydney. Please visit www.rba-australia.com for more information.
