1. Clear Impact Suite — Supporting the Six Essential Data Management Tasks

We usually refer to Clear Impact Suite as our “Two-in-One” data collection and reporting system. It allows individual organizations and partnerships to collect the client-level data they need to deliver effective programming. It also allows them to report data to partners, stakeholders, and the public.

Clear Impact Suite is more like a “Six-in-One” data management system because it allows organizations and partnerships to engage in six essential data-management activities:

  1. Data Collection – collecting the data you need from individual clients, partner organizations, and the community.
  2. Data Organization – improving the navigability, accessibility, and organization of your data to make sense of it.
  3. Data Disaggregation – separating your data points by race, gender, age, or any other relevant characteristics to deepen your understanding and design equitable strategies.
  4. Data Evaluation – analyzing how your performance or impact data changes over time to identify opportunities for improvement, reinforcement, or reallocation.
  5. Data Planning – using your data to design effective strategies, action plans, and funding decisions.
  6. Data Reporting – reporting your data and strategic plans internally and externally to promote alignment, transparency, and buy-in.

What is Clear Impact Suite?

Clear Impact Suite combines our Compyle and Scorecard software into one powerful system for data collection, strategic planning, and performance & impact reporting.

Clear Impact Suite combines our Compyle and Scorecard software into one powerful system that helps organizations accomplish all six essential data management activities. In a nutshell, Compyle allows organizations to collect data about individuals (staff, donors, clients, etc.), organize that data, and analyze changes in client outcomes over time. The system can then feed this data into Scorecard for further analysis and planning. Scorecard allows organizations to use data to conduct thorough and precise evaluations, strategic planning, and reporting.

Clear Impact Suite is the industry’s only fully-integrated, affordable software solution designed to help organizations and partnerships seamlessly align their data collection, performance reporting, and strategic planning.

2. Unlimited Suite Is Better for Partnerships

Unlimited Suite helps partners work in alignment on the same data management systems for maximum impact.

Now that you know what Suite is, what is Unlimited Suite? This software subscription type provides funder-grantee partnerships, collaboratives, and networks unlimited use of Suite (Compyle and Scorecard) for 25 partners. This unlimited usage gets partners working in alignment on the same systems for maximum impact.

Umbrella organizations can set up Unlimited Suite with unlimited data capacity – this means they can collect as much data as they need. Additionally, Unlimited Suite comes with unlimited users. This allows partnerships to get more people involved in data management, further enhancing collaboration and alignment.

3. 4 Benefits of Using Unlimited Suite Across Partnerships, Networks, and Collaboratives

1. Attract Additional Funding for Yourself and Your Partners.

Using Clear Impact Unlimited Suite can help organizations, grantees, and partnerships get more money to fund the causes that matter to them. Users can use certain software functions to create more buy-in. These functions (like transparent data reporting) help get more people on board with a partnership’s Common Purpose  (internally and externally).

Clear Impact Unlimited Suite allows partnerships to create more buy-in by:

    1. Facilitating data transparency (internally with other staff, externally with partners, and externally with the public).
    2. Allowing grantees to report their performance to multiple funders simultaneously.

Say you have a grantee that aligns with your mission, and they deliver consistently high-performing programming. You’d be happy to see them gain additional resources from other funders. Additional funding, no matter where it comes from, would indirectly aid your cause and impact goals. By providing Unlimited Suite to your grantees or partners, you’re increasing the pool of resources they can access. For example, grantees and partners can use Clear Impact Scorecard to do performance reporting to any other funder with any performance measures those funders desire.

Additionally, funders and partners can use Clear Impact Scorecard to transparently present performance data publicly on their websites, helping them to attract additional funding from other organizations and individual donors.

Some Clear Impact Suite clients create transparency by posting links to their Scorecards on “Our Impact” website pages. This screenshot depicts SisterWeb’s impact reporting page, where they post links to their performance Scorecards. You can view these Scorecards at https://www.sisterweb.org/our-impact.

As we’ve seen time and again from our friends in the nonprofit space, transparency builds trust, which creates buy-in. This buy-in makes attracting funding a more fruitful endeavor.

2. Eliminate the administrative lift of data collection for small and large teams.

Data management can be a massive headache if partnerships don’t have the right tools for the job. Some challenges associated with data management involve consistency, accuracy, and relevancy. Here are a few problems that can come up:

    • Collecting data from different sources (e.g., collecting data from surveys vs. face-to-face interviews) makes reconciling data in various formats difficult.
    • Processing data manually can be extremely time-consuming and lead to inaccuracies, especially for small teams with limited capacity.
    • Too much data, combined with poor organization, makes data harder to prioritize and analyze.
    • Ineffective tools don’t allow organizations to collect the precise data they need to understand their performance and make sound funding decisions.

Here’s how Unlimited Suite addresses data management challenges to improve data accuracy, consistency, and relevancy.

Compyle allows organizations and partnerships to collect any data they need about people (or partner organizations) and organize it for accessibility. Partners can create custom data collection forms for case management, applications, program evaluation surveys, and more. The system is highly customizable, allowing organizations to collect the exact types of information they need.

Data collection is just the first step. Compyle takes this further and allows custom data organization to increase navigability and accessibility. Navigability and accessibility are vital because they enable people to quickly find the information they need to do their jobs effectively.

If you need to look at all people across your programs who answered your last survey, you can do it. If you need to access all your partner organizations in one location, you can do it. If you need to see how program participants of different races are faring, you can do it. If you can dream it…if you need to collect it….if you want to see it…you can do it with Compyle!

Compyle allows organizations to capture data about program participants, donors, staff, community members, and partners and organize individuals into unlimited groups for further analysis.

Data templates are a small team’s best friend – they help groups save time and reduce errors associated with manual data entry! Combining Scorecard and Compyle into Clear Impact Suite eliminates the administrative lift of data collection for those responsible for data entry. It allows teams to set up templates (surveys, forms, performance dashboards, etc.) AND allows more parties to participate and play a role in data collection.

Finally, using Compyle and Scorecard together saves time for users with automatic data feeds. The two systems are perfectly integrated, eliminating the need to manually cross-walk data from one system to the other. Organizations can collect and organize their data in Compyle and instantly transfer it into Scorecard for further analysis and strategic planning (if they desire).

3. Build the Capacity of Smaller Grassroots Organizations

Group,Of,Happy,And,Diverse,Volunteers

Unlimited Suite helps build the capacity of smaller, grassroots organizations that may not have the means to purchase data collection and reporting software.

Backbone support organizations, especially funders, hold great power. The greatest use of this power is to help partners reach their destinies. Funders have political power and can operate on a macro scale. They are an important part of the story but not the only part. In contrast, grantees do most of the on-the-ground work to lead partnerships to their destination. Why? They’re the ones with the more nuanced and intimate knowledge of each landscape they traverse.

Funders are uniquely positioned to provide tools and resources their partners need but can’t afford. By providing their partners access to Clear Impact Suite, they’re allowing them to engage more effectively in the six essential data management tasks – this benefits the funder, the partnership, and the communities they serve.

Unlimited Suite allows funders to build the capacity of smaller, grassroots organizations that may not have the budget to purchase data collection and reporting software independently. Investments like these help create efficiency and effectiveness in organizations with a small staff working hard to move the needle in their communities. For example, grantees and partners can use Clear Impact Scorecard for their internal performance management across all programming, creating capacity building across the entire organization.

4. Make Better Decisions.

Access to relevant data can help funders and partners improve decision-making to make a greater impact.

There are three main ways that using Clear Impact Suite across an entire network can help improve decision-making:

    1. Integrating the two systems improves data quality and accuracy.
    2. Clear Impact Scorecard allows backbones and funders to aggregate data across similar programming to see progress on strategies.
    3. When all partners use the same data management systems, this increases consistency and alignment across various factors.

Make Better Decisions with Scorecard

If you’re a funder, you can provide Scorecard to your grantees, and they can track any mandatory or optional performance measures you want to see. Then, you can easily aggregate the data from partners providing similar programs to see and share how your overall strategies work. Additionally, the Scorecard’s built-in “Turn the Curve Planning” tool allows partnerships to create data-based action plans for their community Indicators. Individual organizations can also use the tool to develop performance improvement plans. These plans can be embedded on websites for reporting to funders and the community. You can see an example of an embedded Scorecard below (use the scroll bar on the right to view the whole Scorecard).

The above graphic is an example of a Turn the Curve Action Plan, developed by Vibrant Hawai’i, using the Clear Impact Scorecard. After presenting this Scorecard at the Measurable Equity 2021 Virtual Conference, Vibrant Hawai’i won first place (by attendee vote) in Clear Impact’s Racial Equity Turn the Curve Poster Contest. You can see more examples of Turn the Curve Action Plans in Scorecard here.

Scorecard tools like Turn the Curve Action Planning provide grantees and partners with a consistent way of sharing performance data and action plans, allowing funders to make better decisions on funding allocations. With performance measure aggregation abilities, backbone organizations can easily evaluate individual and network-wide performance and impact. This allows them to engage in more effective dialogue with their partners about what’s working and what might need to change.

Make Better Decisions with Compyle

Using Compyle across partnerships improves data quality, so funders know grantees are collecting data in the same consistent manner. Organizations need data from more than one survey to be effective. To evaluate and improve their performance, they must be able to see how their data changes over time.

Unlike most other surveying and data collection tools, Compyle provides analytics over time. Multi-instance surveys (the ability to send the same survey multiple times to the same person) allow partners to see changes in life circumstances, attitudes, skills, and behaviors, as program participants move through programs. Tools like these are essential to evaluating program quality.

Make Better Decisions with Scorecard and Compyle Together

Compyle directly feeds program performance data into Scorecard. The two platforms combined additionally automate the performance measurement process. This integration means partnerships spend less time and energy on cumbersome data management tasks. Less manual data entry also means organizations and coalitions can improve data accuracy.
